Prizes of the KNCV

Recognizing impact & encouraging talent

One of the ways in which we strengthen the chemical field in general and our members in particular is by awarding prizes. These prizes are divided into two categories.

The first category of prizes is for researchers whose work has had an impact on their field, society and the world. By awarding these prizes, we recognize the impact of their work.

The second category consists of awards for talented students and is intended to encourage them. The award is an incentive to make a positive contribution to the world of tomorrow.

Gold Medal

The most prestigious Dutch award for researchers who have distinguished themselves in the field of chemical research in the broadest sense.

Van Marum Medal

Award for individuals or organizations that have made a significant contribution to raising the profile of chemistry, life sciences and process technology.

Spotlight Award

Award for the PhD student who presents his or her research in the most powerful and impactful way.

KNCV Catalysis Award (DCS)

Award for the most talented young researcher in the field of catalysis.

KNCV Kolthoff Prize (SAC)

Prize for a researcher who has produced a high-quality thesis in the field of analytical chemistry.

KNCV Backer Prize (SOC)

Prize for the best organic thesis of the past year.

KNCV - MCT Thesis Award

Award for outstanding environmental (geo)chemical, environmental toxicological or environmental technological research.

KNCV Award for Polymer Chemistry/Technology

Award for high-quality scientific research in the field of polymer chemistry/technology.

KNCV Van Arkel Prize

Prize for high-quality scientific research in the field of inorganic and physical chemistry.

KNCV-MCCB PhD Thesis Prize

Prize for the most outstanding thesis in medicinal chemistry.

Golden Flame

Award for the best chemistry thesis in secondary vocational education.

Golden Spatula

Award for the best chemistry thesis in higher professional education.

Golden Master

Award for the best chemistry graduation thesis in university education.

Van Deemter Award

Award for the best graduation thesis (MSc or HBO BSc) with a clear analytical chemistry component.

Applied Science Pitch Competition

Prize for the best research pitch in collaboration with NIBI and DAS.

WO-posterprijs (samen met PAC-symposium)
