KNCV Van Marumpenning
The KNCV has been awarding the Van Marum Medal since 1987 to individuals or non-profit organizations that have made a significant contribution to showcasing chemistry, life sciences, biotechnology, process technology, and those who practice them.
This could include important, society-oriented, and innovative communication activities with a positive effect, for example (science) education, outreach, or citizen science.
Both young talent and people with a long record of service can be nominated. The award, presented annually, consists of the Van Marum Medal and a certificate.
The award is named after physician and natural scientist Martinus van Marum (1750 - 1837), the first director of Teylers Museum and an active communicator who made knowledge about chemistry and science accessible to a broad audience.
Nominations for 2025 are now closed. Deadline: April 30, 2025
