The community for chemists and life scientists
Working together for a better future
The community for chemists and life scientists
Our vibrant community consists of scientists, professionals from the business world and government organizations, and college and university students. We offer a broad and varied program that allows each member to develop themselves. We would love to do the same for you!
The association consists of various departments, sections, circles, and working groups, each of which contributes to our common goal with its own program. We strengthen the chemical community in the Netherlands by connecting members, stimulating the development and exchange of knowledge, and offering members opportunities for professional and personal growth. We do this based on three strategic pillars:
Together with the circles and working groups, the sections form the beating heart of the KNCV. They represent all disciplines within our field of work. As a member of the KNCV, you can participate in all activities of the sections, working groups and circles.
As a professional association, we encourage cohesion and cross-pollination between the various parts of the association. Our goal is to offer our members opportunities for optimal development, both in depth and breadth.
The sections represent the disciplines that chemistry, life sciences and process technology have to offer.
Our field of work includes a number of circles that serve and represent specific regions within the Netherlands.
For sector-wide themes, we work with working groups comprising representatives from various sections.
Jong KNCV
Jong KNCV is specifically for chemists, life scientists, and process technologists up to the age of 35. It is a network within the KNCV with its own program of company visits, Jong KNCV Cafés and other activities. Jong KNCV is for both students in higher professional education and university education, as well as professionals at the start of their careers in education, research, government and industry.
Curious about what Jong KNCV can do for you?
Every member is equally important to us. However, there are members who have been committed to the KNCV for many years, both nationally and sometimes internationally. This deserves our appreciation and recognition. We are therefore proud of the long list of honorary members and members of merit that our association has. Prof. Floris Rutjes is the most recent honorary member and Prof. Matthias Bickelhaupt is the most recent member of merit.
The KNCV is represented by members in various international organizations. At IUPAC and EuChemS, national representatives are even selected on the recommendation of the KNCV. So the KNCV also opens doors for you internationally!
The impact of chemistry and chemists in the Netherlands does not stop at national borders. The field benefits from intensive international cooperation to share knowledge, drive innovation, and create scale. That is why we at KNCV work together with sister associations within and outside Europe.
