Elbrig Jansma, MSc
My name is Elbrig Jansma, and I've been working enthusiastically as a project officer at the Royal Netherlands Society of Chemistry (KNCV) since February 2025. I primarily organize events, such as the Evening of Chemistry, and write content for the newsletter and columns in C2W.
My interest in science and communication began during my studies in Psychobiology at the University of Amsterdam. I quickly discovered that I didn't want to pursue research myself, but I still enjoyed learning about the brain and science too much. That's why I chose the Science Communication major for my master's program. The combination of communicating, organizing, and maintaining a connection with science is exactly what I enjoy. When I graduated in 2024, I knew I wanted to pursue this field.
In my free time, I enjoy being active; I play volleyball a lot and enjoy reading, doing puzzles, and being creative with crochet, sewing, and jewelry making. I also enjoy spending time with friends and family.
