Dr. Gino van Strijdonck

Gino van Strijdonck (born 1966) studied Chemistry at the University of Nijmegen and received his PhD there in 1994 under the supervision of Professors Nolte and Steggerda. After postdoctoral positions in Baltimore (Johns Hopkins, Professor Karlin) and Leuven (Professor De Schryver), he worked at the University of Amsterdam under Professor Van Leeuwen from 1998 to 2005. Since 2005, he has worked at Zuyd University of Applied Sciences, where he was one of the initiators of Zuydlab, the predecessor of the current Chemelot Innovation and Learning Lab, in which Gino is still involved. Since 2014, Gino has been a lecturer in Material Sciences at Zuyd University of Applied Sciences. The lectureship has three research lines: 1) sustainable synthesis and production; 2) advanced materials; and 3) molecular diagnosis and analysis.

He has served on the board of the organic chemistry section and was a jury member and chair of the Golden Master for many years. In addition to being a member of the Chemistry of Advanced Materials programme councils of the top sector chemistry and GoChem of SIA, he also participates in the lecturer platforms for the circular economy, biobased economy and the Applied Sciences domain.
