KNCV Fellinga Fund

The Fellinga Fund may be used in the following situations:

  1. For a (PhD) student to attend an international (foreign) scientific conference;
  2. To represent the KNCV at an international conference by giving a presentation/lecture;
  3. For (partial) reimbursement of travel and accommodation expenses related to serving on behalf of the KNCV on a board or committee of IUPAC or EuCheMS.

Unless otherwise specified, the maximum contribution from the fund is €750 (for travel
outside Europe) or €450 (for travel within Europe). The total amount to be paid out can never exceed the actual costs incurred.

Participant requirements:

  • At least two years of paid membership of the KNCV and
    • studying (final phase of higher professional education/university), PhD student or working in (bio)chemistry/chemical technology;
    • not having previously received a contribution from the fund;
    • younger than 30 years of age.

or

  • At least two years of membership of the KNCV and
    • representing the KNCV by participating in a conference by giving a presentation and/or lecture;
    • sitting on a board/committee of EuCheMS/IUPAC on behalf of the KNCV and having no other source available to finance travel and accommodation costs;
    • in principle, the fund can only be claimed once per calendar year and subject to the approval of the KNCV Board or relevant section.

The application consists of:

  1. brief description of the event
  2. the purpose and motivation for the visit
  3. budget of the costs to be incurred
  4. overview of the financing (e.g., contribution from the working group)
  5. in the case of a (PhD) student, a letter of recommendation from the employer or supervisor

The application must be submitted at least two months before the start of the conference. Send the application to the KNCV Office.

The Fellinga Fund was established in 1952 from a donation from the estate of F.B. Fellinga.
