(…)”The committee was very impressed by the quantity and variety of syntheses carried out by Gaston. The research is presented in a very clear, easy-to-read thesis written in English. The experimental part has been recorded with great accuracy and care. The accompanying letter stated that Gaston made a positive contribution to work discussions and that preparations have been made to publish the work in a scientific journal. For Gaston, this nomination is the crowning glory of his cum laude graduation."
