Work experience
After completing my PhD research in Utrecht, I started working at Shell in Amsterdam. There, I initially worked on the development of new Fischer-Tropsch catalysts, after which I spent several months in Qatar supporting the start-up of the Pearl Gas-to-Liquids plant. That operational experience left me wanting more, so I left for the oil terminal in Brunei, first as a process technologist and then as terminal manager. Eventually, I made the switch to offshore operations, where I managed operational support for a number of production facilities in the South China Sea. After returning to Amsterdam, I first worked as a Talent Advisor for Shell's process engineers and the Technology Division, and now I am happily working as Manager Gas Conversion Catalysts.
