Dr. Lene Hviid

During the Evening of Chemistry on 9 October 2018, the KNCV appointed Dr. Lene Hviid as Member of Merit.

Lene served as treasurer on the KNCV board from 2008 to 2014.

In that role, she had to deal with very challenging financial circumstances. Lene Hviid succeeded in an exceptional manner in steering the KNCV through this period. In addition, she represented the KNCV for more than ten years at ChemPubSoc Europe, owner of various scientific journals published by Wiley.

She also represents the KNCV at the RSC's Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics (PCCP) journal. The KNCV receives substantial royalties as co-owner of these scientific journals.

Lene Hviid has proven herself to be a very committed member of the KNCV and is highly valued within the association.

Lene Hviid has a background in organic and physical chemistry and studied at universities in Denmark and Sweden. She received her PhD in 2001 from the University of Amsterdam. In addition, she has extensive experience in industrial research and holds several scientific advisory and administrative positions.
