About KNCV-CTC Spring Symposium

KNCV-CTC Spring Symposium

This annual meeting brings together the Dutch community in Computational and Theoretical Chemistry (CTC).

The CTC Spring Symposium is an annual scientific event organized within the Dutch community of Computational and Theoretical Chemistry (CTC). The symposium aims to bring together researchers, students, and professionals working in theoretical and computational approaches to chemistry and related disciplines.

During the symposium, participants present and discuss recent scientific developments in areas such as quantum chemistry, molecular simulations, modeling of chemical processes, and the development of new theoretical methods and software. The program typically includes invited lectures by leading researchers, contributed talks from scientists working in the Netherlands, and poster presentations by PhD candidates and master’s students. In this way, the symposium provides a platform for sharing new results, receiving feedback, and stimulating scientific collaboration.

In addition to its focus on fundamental theoretical research, the symposium also emphasizes connections with experimental work and with neighboring scientific fields such as physics, computer science, and biology. This reflects the inclusive nature of the CTC section, which aims to involve both theoreticians and experimentalists who have an interest in theory and modeling.

The CTC Spring Symposium also serves an important social and professional role. It offers early-career researchers the opportunity to present their work, expand their professional network, and engage with the broader Dutch community of computational and theoretical chemists. Through these activities, the symposium contributes to knowledge exchange and to strengthening the field within the Netherlands.
