KNCV Travel Grant

The participating societies share a commitment to scientific excellence, to publishing ethics and to the highest standards in publication, which are the basis for the success of the Chemistry Europe journals.

To stimulate our KNCV members to publish in these journals the executive board has taken initiative for a KNCV travel grant.

KNCV members (industrial researchers, post-docs, PhD students), affiliated to a research institution or a Dutch university can apply for a travel grant for attending international scientific meetings. KNCV can provide financial support up to € 500 to (partly) cover registration, travel and subsistence costs.

The applicant has to be a paying KNCV member for at least one year.

These grants are open to scientists presenting a communication at the meeting (oral or poster) and having published at least one paper in one of the Chemistry Europe journals (see list below) within the last two years. For a specific congress (EuCheMS, IUPAC or similar), the committee can support only one scientist per laboratory.

Applications should be sent at least two months before the date of the conference to the treasurer of the KNCV with:

  • motivation letter for attending the conference
  • a short CV,
  • a copy of the abstract of the proposed communication,
  • details of the requested budget,
  • a copy of the paper(s) published in one or our journals (see list below).

In order to receive the grant you will need to supply:

  • a copy of the acceptance letter from the conference organizing committee,
  • a copy of the conference program in which your contribution is listed
  • a copy of receipts, boarding passes, etc at least for the amount requested

Should a grant be awarded, the reimbursement will be made after presentation of original receipts.

The selection committee consists of the KNCV treasurer and the boardmember for internal relations. The KNCV executive board decides on granting the award.
