ERC starting grant for dr. Kim Bonger

Kim Bonger, Shari Boodts and Peter Schwabe of Radboud University have been awarded Starting Grants from the European Research Council (ERC). ERC Starting Grants are intended to help young researchers set up their own research group. Each grant is worth approximately 1.5 million euros.
Chemist Kim Bonger (board member of the Organic Chemistry Division of the KNCV) has been awarded an ERC Starting Grant for her project entitled ‘Seeing Citruline: a Molecular Toolbox for Peptidyl Arginine Deiminases’. Kim Bonger leads a research group that combines organic chemistry with molecular biology and biochemistry to target and answer biological questions related to autoimmune and protein misfolding diseases.
