This year's New Frontiers symposium at Radboudumc will be dedicated to the future of Glycoscience. A dynamic & inspiring event with varied presentations, short talks, poster sessions & awards and much more.

This online symposium gathers national and international leading scientists to share their vision on the future of Translational Glycoscience. It will cover molecular life science developments in various diseases including genetics disorders, cancer, neurodevelopmental disorders, infectious diseases, as well as avenues for nutrition, health and aging. The symposium is aimed at both junior researchers as well as faculty members and is organized by the RIMLS and Radboud Consortium for Glycoscience.

The NVBMB and Nora Baart Stichting (NBS) have awarded travel grants for an internship abroad to the following students:

Anne Flier (Biomedical Sciences, Utrecht University) will visit the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston to investigate the immune system in pancreatic cancer.

Luuk Broeils (Cancer, Stem cells and Developmental Biology, Utrecht University) will perform an internship at the Karolinska Intitutet in Solna, Sweden to study enhancers in pancreatic cancer.

Tomas Post (Medical Biology, Radboud University Nijmegen) will visit the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, NY to evaluate the use and effectivity of nanoimmunotherapeutics in SARS-CoV2 infections.

On December 8, 2021 at 6:30 pm Prof. Luc Brunsveld (Chair NVBMB) will give a lecture entitled ‘Chemical Biology - from fundamental research to biotech start-up’ This will take place in Utrecht and be streamed live to various Dutch universities.

The meeting is jointly organised by Cristina Paulino and Thom Sharp, the 2020 and 2021 winners of the NVBMB prize.

The program will cover state of the art microscopy techniques and applications, including super-resolution, 3D cryoEM and correlative methods.
