Laura Rossi obtained her Bachelor in chemistry from the University of Pavia (Italy) in 2005. After that she moved to Utrecht University where she obtained a Master in Chemistry and Physics with honors and later in 2012 a PhD in Physical Chemistry. In 2013, she joined as postdoc the department of Chemistry at the University of California, Los Angeles. In 2015, she moved back to the Netherlands at the University of Amsterdam with a Veni grant. Since 2018 she is assistant professor in the Chemical Engineering Department at TU Delft where she leads the group on Colloidal Engineering and Materials Design. Her research work is set at the interface of chemistry, physics and engineering and currently focuses on the design of complex magnetic colloidal particles for the self-assembly of novel materials. She is actively involved in outreach activities with local high schools to promote STEM subjects among students. Along with an active scientific career, she is the proud mother of a 2 year old girl.
