NVBMB Fall Meeting: Unleashing nucleic acid therapeutics’ full potential

We are delighted to invite you to the NVBMB Fall Meeting 2023: Unleashing nucleic acid therapeutics’ full potential

When: Wednesday November 22
Where: Ceres Building TU/e Campus, Eindhoven

Registration is free of charge, but mandatory. As the number of places available is limited, it is recommended to register as soon as possible

The meeting will feature exciting contributions from academic and industrial scientists focusing on regulating gene expression and developing nucleic acid therapeutics. The program will be concluded by a talk from Roy van der Meel, 2023 NVBMB prize winner.

During the meeting, The H.G.K. Westenbrink Prize 2021 - 2022 will be handed out to  Dr. Rebecca Halbach for her thesis entitled "Beyond transposon control: piRNAs in gene regulation and embryonic development".

Call for nominations NVBMB prize 2024

Every year the Netherlands Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (NVBMB) awards a young independent scientist working in the Netherlands in the area of biochemistry and molecular biology a prize in recognition of their achievements and to promote their career.

The NVBMB-prize amounts to € 2000. Many past awardees have reached an established position, see our website for an overview.

Nominations for the NVBMB prize 2024 should be sent to secretary of the NVBMB before December 31st 2023.

Extended deadline Westenbrink thesis award 2022-2023

The deadline for nominations for the  H.G.K. Westenbrink award has been extended. The Westebrink award is given to the best thesis in the field of biochemistry and molecular biology, defended at a Dutch University in the academic year 2022-2023. The Westenbrink awards amounts to 2000 euro and will be awarded at the NVBMB Spring symposium.The deadline for nominations has been extended to December 31st.

Upcoming meetings

Please reserve in your agenda Friday January 19th 2024 for the annual NPP meeting, which will take place in De Driehoek in Utrecht with the following keynote speakers:

Prof. Dr. Berhard Kuster, Chair of Proteomics and Bioanalytics, Technical University of Munich

Prof. Dr. Kathryn Lilley,  Department of Biochemistry, University of Cambridge

Abstracts (250 words, 1 optional figure) can be submitted to m.vandenbiggelaar@sanquin.nl before December 1st 2023.
