During the 46th NBV general assembly, Jan Wery was elected president of the NBV for the coming two years. Wery is CTO of Photanol, and has served the NBV board the past two years as vice-president. He succeeds Maria Barbosa, who finished her much appreciated duties and lead the NBV in the past two years.

Academia will be represented by the newly elected board member Maria Suarez Diez, professor and chair of Systems and Synthetic Biology at Wageningen University & Research. She will serve as Vice-President.
